National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is underway, celebrating the benefit of learning ‘skills for life’ when undergoing an apprenticeship programme.
NAW 2023 began on Monday February 6th and sees businesses around the UK focusing on the benefit of providing training to young people.
It is the 16th NAW to have taken place, with the intention being to highlight the opportunities apprenticeships can offer individuals, as well as companies.
This year’s theme is ‘Skills for Life’, with organisers saying this reflects “on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills”.
Until February 12th, a number of events will be held aimed at both prospective apprentices and businesses.
These include the NTDC Event for Technical Apprentices on Zoom, the Torbay Apprenticeship Fair, Skills for Life – Leadership and Management Training Free Webinar, the Apprenticeship Fair in Kensington Town Hall, London, and the Advanced Clinical Practitioner Apprenticeship from Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.
As well as these, lots of other events will be taking place during the week, giving attendees more information about different industries and training opportunities.
The NAW website is also providing resources, a graduation toolkit for ideas on holding a celebration after completing training, and school resources to encourage involvement in the week-long celebration.
There are also resources available on the apprenticeships.gov.uk website, including tips on how to fill out application forms, advice on preparing for interviews, and activity packs to give students information about different career options.
If you are looking to expand your training in a certain industry, take a look at different employer provider apprenticeships where you might find the right role for you.
