Businesses in the north-east could be in with a chance of winning a North East Apprenticeship Award if they are nominated.
Entries for the prestigious awards are now open, with the closing date for nominations being June 9th 2023.
The event is designed to “celebrate and recognise the hardworking individuals and organisations involved in apprenticeships and how they shape our future”.
A spokesperson for the event told Sunderland Echo: “We want to recognise all the efforts of the apprenticeship scheme – from the apprentices themselves to the wonderful training providers and employers who support them.”
It is being put together by The Sunderland Echo, South Shields Gazette, Northumberland Gazette and News Post Leader, as well as Teesside University. The awards are also supported by the North East Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, New Durham College, and South Tyneside College.
The award categories include degree apprentice of the year; higher apprentice; intermediate apprentice; advanced apprentice; construction apprentice; engineering/manufacturing apprentice; health and public service apprentice; professional services apprentice; technology and digital apprentice; diversity and inclusive award; mentor of the year; large employer of the year; SME employer of the year; and training provider/programme of the year.
Winners will be revealed on July 13th at Newcastle United Football Club, and names will be published online a week later.
Guests attending the event will enjoy a drinks reception, a four-course meal, entertainment, and hopefully, an award to go home with.
Admission costs £75 per person, while a table of ten reduces this to £67.50 for each guest.
If you know an employer provider apprenticeship that deserves being nominated, it is worth putting them forward for an award.
